As we celebrate Giving Tuesday, we would like to thank you for your previous giving. It has given us and many young people across Uganda so much hope and connection in very uncertain times not just in Uganda but across the world.
The ACLED Conflict Index reports a 15% increase in conflict in 2024 across the world and it is very easy to give up and stop engaging to challenge the narrative. But we cannot give up, it is crucial to prioritize peacebuilding efforts, even in the face of challenges and increased violence. Investing in peace building and conflict transformation will lead to long-term stability, reduced violence, and improved human well-being, meaning a child stays in school and continue on their journey to have an opportunity to positively transform their communities.
Many young people in Uganda are passionate about creating change and transforming their communities and are waiting for the right person to give them the skills so they can get to work. This is why Uganda Unites continues to work with and skill young people, because we believe that they have a big role to play in preventing/ending conflict and positively transforming their communities.
We hope you can consider supporting our peace building initiatives this Giving Tuesday. We are looking for 1,000 donors to help us raise $50,000 to set up a reconciliation centre to reach more young people. Join Us on this journey and invite 5 friends to join us too.https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/setting-up-reconciliation-centre-for-500-youth/
It will take a lot of work, well equipped young people and committed donors like you to move the needle towards peace, inclusion and sustainable development for all.
Thank you for your support.
