In collaboration with MWF Alumni and the U.S. Mission in Uganda, we embarked on a transformative journey to inspire young leaders at Silver Spoon Primary School in Kibuli. The centre piece of this endeavour was the launch of the MWF@10 poem, documentary and unveiling of a captivating mural, a symbol of hope and aspiration to the young leaders as well as a souvenir to celebrate the 10 years of Mandela Washington Fellowship.
The celebration event exhibited the U.S. Mission’s commitment to leadership development, and it was graced by the presence of US Mission Chargè d’Affaires, William Bent, who’s inspiring address ignited a spark within the young minds, emphasising the power of leadership in driving positive change.
The interactive sessions brought discussion among the pupils and MWF alumni that delved deeper into the traits of leadership, career paths, and community service, empowering pupils to envision themselves and their roles as future leaders. The students shared about their career aspirations, and how they hope their careers will serve their communities. Uganda Unites is committed to continue supporting the students on this journey of self discovery.
By merging art, education, and community engagement, this initiative laid a strong foundation for cultivating a new generation of leaders and it stands as a vibrant testament to this collaboration, a beacon of hope, inspiring pupils to reach for the stars and become catalysts for positive change in their communities.
