In March, Kateregga Abdul-Malik, the Programs Associate for School Relations, Peace Clubs, and Volunteer Training, travelled to Kasese in Western Uganda. His mission was to train new volunteers and support the team during their School Relation Tours (SRTs).
The trip proved highly successful. The team forged partnerships with 5 new schools in the region: Standard High School, Kisinga Vocational High School, Morning Star High School, Nyabugando Baptist School, and Bwera Secondary School. This collaboration brought 3620 students into the program.
Even more impressive, five new peace clubs were established, one in each of the partner schools. From the initial group of 3620 students, a significant number – 1,972 expressed interest in continuing their leadership development journey by joining a peace club.
The program’s expansion into Kasese is a major step forward. It signifies the program’s growing impact and its reach into new communities.
